Does anybody know who played the drum tracks for the Bee Gee songs from the Saturday Night Feaver days? The reason why I'm asking is I just hear the song "More Than A Woman" and really listened to the drum track. If you can, please listen to that song and see if you notice what I noticed. I was VERY surprised.

    Hey Ladanny,

Maybe that the Guy on the picture with you did the sessions with the Bee Gees, but I'm not really sure about that.

The song that you are talking is really beautiful.

    Peace.

Nah, can't think of his name right now, but they were Fl. guys. Keyboard player was Blue Weaver.
Coffee kicked in, Dennis Byron was the drummer and it was produced by Arif Mardin, assisted in those days by Alby Galuten (jellyfish).

So, I'm listenning the track righ now...
Yes, it's a beautiful straight beat with the kick on all the time.
I think that it's a drummer who is playing, but we never know, the hi-hat is really "tight" but even playable... (I don't know if this word existe...)

Yeah, I'm still thinking about Gadd with Ralph McDonald on percussion.
But I'm still not sure too...

I'll have a guess at Ronnie Tut, who played with Neil Diamand and Elvis as he was pretty prolific around that time.

So has anyone been able to listen to the song and the drum part? I'm sure if you think of the song, you would not hear this drum part in your head. Specifically, it's a typical disco beat of the time, 4 on the floor, with NO fills, and not ONE cymbal crash!!! It's like a drum machine looping the entire time with no change. I wonder if he actually played it all the way through like that!

So, other than this tune, I can only think of two other HITS where the drums just pretty much loop:

"That's Just The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby
"Endless Summer Nights" by Richard Marx

The interesing thing on all three tracks is that percussion fills in the part of the fill. Well, not on the Bruce H. tune. That's just a 1 bar loop.

Has anyone ever had to play a track like the Bee Gee's example???
